El Chuncho's gang of bandits, rob weapons from the Mexican army, with intension to sell them to rebel General Elias. Bill Tate is hired to kill General Elias and he manages to join the gang during a train robbery, using the bandits to try to get close to General Elias.
The production, directing, story and cast are all top notch for this political, Mexican Revolution, Spaghetti Western. Gian Maria Volontθ and Lou Castel fits their parts perfectly. Klaus Kinski doesn't have a huge role but it's of course fun to see him in a crazy preacher role. There's no duels or man vs. man situation, but bigger gunfights with a serious amount of dead soldiers. Luis Bacalovs music remained a bit distant, I can't remember a single tune after watching the movie.
There's nothing really wrong with the movie but I personally, much rater watch a 'silent stranger' type SW's than a political, big battle one.
