Reviewed version - Fansubs on Italian DVD.
Roy escapes from a workcamp and receives help from a miner. The miners are held hostage by the local boss Mr. Redfield. Roy starts to help the miners and also to settle some scores for a friend from the workcamp.
This movie is very 'Fistful Of Dollar'ish, both plotwise and there are also a number of scenes that seems to be straightly copied from the Leone classic. I don't see this as a bad thing because it's made very well. Why Roy was at the workcamp remains a mystery to me, he seems like a righteous man and not that much as a anti hero. Strong directing and great camerawork. Fabio Testi at his best, accompanied with a good cast and a nice music score by Bruno Nicolai. I found one of the pianotunes a bit annoying, though.
Good Spaghetti Western which for the time lacks an English friendly DVD release. Only the fansubbed version available for the few and lucky.
Some dialogue:
"-Here is the guy who always fakes his death" "-How is the imitation this time?" (Bang) "-He's faking it perfectly."
